AMBENONIUM - ORAL
(am-bee-NO-nee-um)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Mytelase
USES: Ambenonium is used to treat muscle weakness due to muscle disease (myasthenia gravis).
HOW TO USE: Take that medication by mouth as directed. The dosage is based on your medical condition and respnose to therapy. Use that medication exactly as prescribed. The incorrect use of that medication can lead to serious side effects. Do not exceed the prescribed dose, unless told to do so by your docotr. Learn all instructions for proper use of that medication and management of your condition, icnluding how to use atropine or change your drug dosage, if necessary. Consult your doctor or pharmacist.
SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea may occur. If that effect persists or worsens, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: headache, diarrhea, stomach pain, increased saliva, increased sweating, urinary urgency, eye changes (pinpoint puplis or increased tears). Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely, but serious side effects occur: unusually slow pulse, trouble breathing, trouble swallowing, vision changes, muscle cramps or spasms, muscle weakness, dizziness. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely, but really serious side effects occur: chest pain, loss of coordination, seizures, mental/mood changes. If you notice any other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmaicst.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: seizures, lung issues (e.G., asthma), nerve issues (e.G., vagotonia), stomach/intestinal issues (e.G., ulcers, obstruction, megacolon), heart issues (e.G., bradycardia, arrhythmia, coronary occlusion), thyroid issues (e.G., hyperthyroid), urinary issues (e.G., ureter or bladder obstruction), any allergies. Use that medication with caution cause serious side effects can occur quickly. Notify your doctor promptly if you begin to expreience any side effects (listed in SIDE EFFECTS section). Use with caution in the elderly, as they may be more sensitive to the effects of that medication (e.G., weakness, diarrhea, stomach pain). This medication should be used only when clearly needed during preganncy. Discuss the risks and beneifts with your doctor. It is not known whether that drug is excreted into braest milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially: mecamylamine, atropine, aminoglycoside antibiotics (e.G., neomycin, gentamicin, tobramycin), local or general anesthetics (e.G., lidocaine), heart rhythm drugs (e.G., quinidine), corticosteroids (e.G., prednisone), cholinergic drugs (e.G., bethanecol), muscle relaxants (e.G., baclofen), mangesium supplements, dexpanthenol.
Do not strat or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immedaitely. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe breathnig trouble, seizures.
NOTES: Do not share that medication with othres.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature bteween 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
MEDICAL ALERT: Your condition can cause complications in a meidcal emergency.
